Should smoking be banned in public places?

I strongly agree that the smoking should be banned in public places such as restaurants, shopping centers, public transportation, schools, and daycare centers.

To begin with, since there are so many people crowded, smoking in public places might give fatal, negative effects to those people. According to American Cancer Society, more than 60 of chemical compounds contained in tobacco smoke causes cancer, which indicates that secondhand smoking will make people to get cancer.

In addition, smoking is dangerous to smokers themselves, too. Smoking causes smokers' blood vessels to be narrow so that blood doesn't circulate normally. Thus, smokers might get disease called 'peripheral vascular disease,' according to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. However, through banning smoking in public places, smoking rates can be reduced. Bans in public places reduce general smoking rates through a combination of stigmatization and reduction in the social cues for smoking. Actually, smoking rates reduced a lot in UK, US, and Sweden through banning smoking in public places.
